Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is an event celebrated every year by the Ilocano people. This festival is a way for the Ilocano people to honor the foundation of the province of Ilocos Sur. This celebration is a way for Ilocanos to celebrate and highlight the rich cultures and traditions of the province.

The Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is usually celebrated during the month of February. The festival is usually started with a mass held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral. Through this holy mass, the people of Ilocos Sur will have a way of giving thanks to the God for the rich culture and for the foundation of the province. This festival is not only meant to highlight the rich culture and traditions of Ilocos Sur, but this is also a way for the younger generation to appreciate and learn more about their rich and unique cultures and traditions.

We might still be in the pandemic, but this pandemic won’t stop us from celebrating the rich and beautiful culture and traditions of my fellow Ilocanos. This pandemic will truly help us unite as a people to not only celebrate our culture but to also go through any challenges we might face, including this current pandemic.
