Every January 25, the city of Vigan celebrates its fiesta. The fiesta is celebrated in honor of St. Paul the Apostle, the patron saint of the city. During the Vigan City Fiesta, another festival known as the Longganisa Festival is celebrated, which features one of Vigan City's products, the popular Vigan Longganisa. The Longganisa Festival is celebrated with street dancing and other activities focused on the famous Vigan Longganisa. Unfortunately, due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, celebrating a beloved day in our beloved city will be extremely challenging.

The Fiesta of Vigan City is held every January 25th in honor of St. Paul the Apostle, the patron saint of Vigan City. Vigan City's Metropolitan Cathedral of the Conversion of St. Paul is a church dedicated to St. Paul the Apostle. The festival is mainly celebrated by the people of Vigan or Biguenos with parades, street dancing, and other activities in honor of St. Paul. The festival is celebrated to honor St. Paul the Apostle's conversion, in which we recall the event in St. Paul the Apostle's life that led him to stop persecuting early Christians and become a follower of Christ. This is what this celebration is truly about, because even if there are limitations that prevent us from enjoying it the way we used to, nothing can ever stop us from honoring its true meaning. The true purpose of this celebration is to show that everyone can change for the better, just as St. Paul changed from killing Christians to becoming a Christian and preaching God's word. We can learn a lot from the life of St. Paul, especially since it will be more difficult to overcome this pandemic if we do not become better people. So, let us reflect on the life of St. Paul the Apostle, because the lessons we learn from his life can help us recover from this pandemic.

The Vigan Festival is a very special celebration for the people of Vigan since it commemorates St. Paul the Apostle, Vigan City's patron saint. The people of Vigan or Biguenos celebrate this festival with parades and street dancing, but with the pandemic, the people of Vigan will have a more difficult time celebrating the festival. But let us not forget the main reason for this feast, which is St. Paul's conversion. The lessons we can learn from St. Paul's life can be particularly helpful, especially during this pandemic.
